World War Wednesdays

A monthly dinner and screening for men and teenage guys. We share a meal inspired by the setting, talk around the table, then settle in for a short historical briefing and a film or series.

What a Wednesday looks like

The table. Dinner comes first, and the menu follows the map: Calvados-glazed ribs for Normandy, carbonnade smash burgers and frites for Bastogne, tarte flambée out of the pizza oven for Alsace, Bavarian roast chicken for the last stop in Berchtesgaden. Most people bring a dish or a drink. Special nights, like a chili cookoff, break the rule on purpose.

The screening. Films and series follow the history in order, with a short briefing before we watch. We just finished Band of Brothers: ten episodes, Toccoa to the Alps. How we choose what to watch

Coming. Men and teenage guys: friends, neighbors, family, and their friends. It's not a club or a church event, just people who know each other. RSVP on the event's Partiful link so we can plan food, and bring someone.
